GUBCOMPANY IN TAMILNADU, SOUTH INDIA FEBRUAR 2025
Eine Koproduktion mit Cedar India, www.cedarindia.org. Vom 4.02.-14.02. 2025 hat GUBCOMPANY in Zusammenarbeit mit Cedar India in Kovilpatti und in Madurai zwei Theaterworkshops geleitet für Kinder und Erwachsene. Cedar India ist eine Organisation, die in verschiedenen Dörfern oder Stadtteilen seit gut dreissig Jahren After School Zentren betreibt für Kinder aus armen Familien. In den Zentren geht es nicht nur um schulische Themen, sondern auch um Kunst und Media: Film, Fotografie, Malerei, Theater, storytelling. Professionelle Kunstschaffende unterstützen die Kinder bei ihrer kreativen Arbeit, organisieren Ausstellungen, Filmvorführungen, Theater Performances. Diese Arbeit stärkt das Selbstbewusstsein der Kinder und erweitert ihre Kompetenzen. Für Gubcompany war es eine grosse Freude mit den Kindern und einer Gruppe von Facilitators, 18 Frauen, zu arbeiten und ihre Kreativität, ihre Leidenschaft bei der Arbeit zu erleben.
In einem Folgeprojekt könnte aus den entstandenen Skizzen, eine Performance entstehen, in der wahre Geschichten aus den Dörfern auf der Bühne gezeigt werden.

A co-production with Cedar India, www.cedarindia.org. From February 4-14, 2025, GUBCOMPANY, in collaboration with Cedar India, conducted two theater workshops for children and adults in Kovilpatti and Madurai. Cedar India is an organization that has been running after-school centers for children from poor families in various villages or neighborhoods for over thirty years. The centers focus not only on academic subjects, but also on art and media: film, photography, painting, theater, and storytelling. Professional artists support the children in their creative work, organizing exhibitions, film screenings, and theater performances. This work strengthens the children’s self-confidence and expands their skills. For GUBCOMPANY, it was a great pleasure to work with the children and a group of 18 women facilitators and to experience their creativity and passion at work.
In a follow-up project, the resulting sketches could be turned into a performance in which true stories from the villages are presented on stage.
